What we do/
Recording/
Pretty much all kinds of recordings have been done here at Ocean Sound. There’s something special about the main live room, it’s kind of hard to make it sound bad ..and it’s so easy to get inspiring takes in these surroundings. The live room layout is well suited for bands and ensembles, and the vibe is perfect for tracking vocals.
Mixing/
We’re best known as one of Europe’s preferred destination recording studios, but since our mix suite, Studio B, was completed in 2014, we’ve also steadily built a strong reputation for high-end mixing. Jaran, Marenius and Henning, our in-house mixers, can handle anything from jazz to pop and heavy metal. Get in touch to get your song mixed by us!
In 2021 Studio B got upgraded with a Dolby Atmos setup, and we’re very excited to be able to offer Atmos mixing as part of our services.
Mastering/
By increasing demand we’ve added mastering as one of our services. Our in-house engineers do mastering to the highest standards and have mastered some of Norway’s most streamed songs and albums, as well as more esoteric projects. We deliver masters both for digital release and vinyl.
Producers/
In addition to all the awesome producers and engineers visiting us, we’re lucky that Jaran and Marenius are some killer resident producers as well. Get in touch to see if they’re a good fit for realising your musical and sonic visions.
Songwriting space/
Even though we’re fully equipped to tackle the most demanding recording projects and mixes, we’re equally proud of all the great songs that’s been written here. A lot of our clients choose to come here just to find calmness and inspiration for songwriting and production.
For bigger song-writing camps, we utilise the whole studio, setting up workstations in the live room, booths, Studio B and even bedrooms to maximise the space.
Special events/
We’ve hosted many special events, like Kygo’s release party for his album Cloud Nine where he gathered 100 special guests from all over the globe. We also hosted A-HA’s 2017 MTV Unplugged shows where we connected the studio to the stages in Giske Harbor Hall next door. In collaboration with our sister company Momentium, one of Norways leading festival, event and live show organisers, the sky is the limit for what we can create.
